What is Pokémon Showdown?
Pokémon Showdown is an open-source online Pokémon battle simulator that lets you enjoy Pokémon battles in your browser. Whether you want to relive classic game battle scenes, try new team combinations, or learn Pokémon battle strategies, Pokémon Showdown is your best choice.
Pokémon Showdown Registration
Visit https://play.pokemonshowdown.com to enter the game homepage.
If you have not used the Pokémon Showdown platform before, please register a battle ID. By clicking the "Choose name" button in the upper right corner of the homepage, a pop-up window will appear. Enter the desired ID name. If a password is requested, it means the ID has already been registered, and you need to choose another ID.
Note that registration is not complete at this point. We need to click the gear icon on the right. In the pop-up window, click the "Register" button, enter the password twice, and at the bottom, there will be a verification with a small Pokémon, usually Pikachu.
At this point, we have successfully registered an account. Next, let's see how to build a team.
Pokémon Showdown Team Building
Pokémon Showdown has a complex tier system, which we will not discuss in detail for now. We will use "OU" as an example since it is the most common player tier.
First, select the "OU" tier, then click the "Teambuilder" button on the main interface. If there are no teams, we need to create a new team by clicking "New Team".
Select the "OU" tier and click the "Add Pokémon" button to start adding Pokémon to your team (moveset data is provided at the end of this article).
Using the "Import/Export" feature, you can save your configured team and quickly share it with others by copying and pasting.
Now we have completed the team configuration.
Pokémon Showdown Start Battle
Return to the main page and click "Battle" to start battling!
